As such, there tends to be fewer staff on a typical shift, which puts broader emphasis on multitasking rather than just focusing on the part of the kitchen that am working in.

This pub, however, in contrast to my first Wetherspoons role, was not located in a city centre and tended to be less busy overall. As such, there tended to be fewer staff on a typical shift, which put a broader emphasis on multitasking rather than just focusing on the part of the kitchen I was working in.

However, there was a greater emphasis on ensuring that all different parts of a particular order were ready at the same time. This, in turn, placed a greater importance on communication with staff working in different parts of the kitchen.

As this pub was located in a busy city centre, it could be particularly busy at certain times, mainly school holidays, summer days and weekends. This helped me gain and adapt to the experience of working in a fast-paced environment.

I took part in Mindless Academy's 4-week mindset and career and coaching program, The Heart-Centred Hustle. During this time, I practiced mindfulness and reflective journaling techniques to develop a mindset of self-awareness, self-belief, and motivation. Finally, I worked on my vision and created a 4-week action plan to achieve my personal and professional goals.
