Right at Home is a premium domiciliary social care provider operating in 73 UK town/cities via a franchise network. In Jan 2017 my partner and I purchased a territory growing annual revenue from 0 to £1.1 million in the 3rd full year of trading whilst employing a team of 45 heads. We achieved the ‘holy grail’ of a CQC ‘Outstanding’ rating in May 2019, something that only 4% of domiciliary care providers earn. My core responsibilities on a day-day basis were recruitment, client acquisition, marketing, process creation and improvement, and supplier relations. My partner Samantha continues to run the business.

Wholesale Solutions is an import, wholesale, and online retailer delivering B2C sales of FMCG, I was responsible for growing wholesale revenue and improving overall profitability. Two of the ways I achieved this were: 1. By growing the profitability of the largest two wholesale customers by a combined 36% through disciplined cost control and a robust pricing strategy underpinned by the tactical use of value-adds in the negotiation stage. 2. A redesign of the warehouse layout and rework of the picker’s work flow subsequently improving productivity by 12%.

Nido is a luxury, student accommodation provider owning and operating Build to Rent (BTR) style buildings in major European cities with capacity for up to 1000 students per site. In this dual role, I drove secondary spend whilst ensuring guest experience and subsequent Net Promoter Scores (NPS) could be leveraged to drive repeat bookings and support annual room price increases above industry norms. To this end I lifted secondary revenue by 171% YoY through the introduction of new services/products, the streamlining of existing ones, and vastly improved consumer awareness.

Essex, Kent And Sussex

Park Resorts (renamed Park Dean Resorts) operated 47 branded Holiday Parks across England. I was General Manager with full P&L responsibility of a 30-acre Holiday Park in Essex comprising 250 holiday homes, a touring and camping facility, a bar, restaurant, pool and clubhouse; turning over £2.2m through 5 distinct revenue streams. I grew the Holiday Park’s EBITDA by 116% YoY, and by 176% versus the 3 year average whilst improving customer experience scores by 40%.

Intercruises is a global Handling Agent supporting numerous international cruise lines including two of the ultra-luxury brands, Silversea and Crystal. I was responsible for creating, pricing and delivering all excursion and tour products sold by cruise ships calling into UK ports. One significant piece of work I delivered singlehandedly was researching, developing and fully costing a bespoke excursion proposal (over 300 unique excursions) for Royal Caribbean the world’s largest cruise line at the time, presenting them with a 60% new product offering.

Thomas Cook was a global Tour Operator responsible for many of the UK’s and Europe’s best known holiday and travel brands. For 6 years I was based in high volume Mediterranean holiday destinations and tasked with ensuring guests had an outstanding in-resort experience, whilst simulations leading my team of 50 heads to deliver the highest in-resort revenue target across the sector. One notable achievement was lifting gross profit by 65% YoY; the greatest annual increase of the previous 5 years across the whole brand, whilst also improving brand loyalty metrics by 19% in the same period.
