Management of complex workforce development programs and projects of the ASSETS Senior Employment Opportunities Program, which provides comprehensive employment case management, training, counseling, placement, and supportive services to at-risk older adults. The primary duty was to implement career advancement strategies for low income, unemployed or underemployed older adults. Many of these older adults were public assistance recipients. To that end, I was responsible for the supervision of 13 to 16 employees with the objective of meeting federal, state and local government grant performance measures and regulatory compliance. This position required training staff, employer collaborations, case management, customer service, information technology administration; enforcement of federal and state funded program regulations; guiding staff through service and administrative procedures and monitoring progress towards their goals; report preparation for ongoing deliverables and audits; gathering and analyzing data as it relates to labor market trends, economic development, quality assurance and improvement areas; organization of the program's operations for maximum service efficiency and continuous quality improvement (CQI); delivering community meetings and outreach events; providing coaching, mentoring and crisis intervention to at-risk older adults with the goal of keeping them employed, healthy and engaged in the community; reviewing and evaluating staff performance; managing approximately $1.2M to $1.8M in public funds; publicly representing the program; communicating ideas and collaborating with a diverse community of internal and external stakeholders with competing needs and interest; and delivering presentations at various meetings and events.

Primarily responsible for supervising the work of five direct client service managers who delivered programs that served seniors with physical and mental health care issues. Those services included adult day care, adult protective services case management, case management to help seniors age at home, senior advocacy initiatives and specialized programs for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) seniors. This position required collaborating with the service managers to determine effective and cost efficient solutions to service delivery and operational issues. I also provided direction for these program’s informational brochures and written materials; presented these programs at conferences and community meetings; designed and coordinated new projects and program enhancements for seeking leveraged funding; set program and project activities, timelines, and benchmarks in order to meet outcomes per grant agreements; and implemented an agency wide volunteer program. In addition, my primary duties included overseeing BACS’ development department. Under my direction I implemented individual donor campaigns, produced events and delivered the BACS 60th Anniversary gala. I also wrote foundation, corporate and government grants, developed marketing materials such as newsletters and press releases, lead the fundraising committee of the board of directors, and supervised one graphic design staff.

Responsible for designing, planning, evaluating, funding, and managing services and advocacy projects that improved the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) seniors. This was done through strategic planning and supervision of three program staff, interns, and more than 70 volunteers, in addition to engaging with an advisory board. My other primary duties included fundraising to meet the organization’s operating budget and designing new programs and service enhancements.
