At the Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation, and Robotics Technologies (CARRT) at the University of South Florida (USF) it was my job to complete various projects on a Wheelchair Mounted Robotic Arm (WMRA). The WMRA is a 7-DOF arm attached the side of a motorized wheelchair, essentially creating a 9-DOF robotic system. One of the WMRA projects I worked on was creating a wireless controller for the robotic arm using an Android phone. The Android phone's built in three axis accelerometer was used to determine how the end-effector was to move. While completing my given research tasks I am also using this opportunity to complete my Masters Thesis using the WMRA robotic system.

As an Undergraduate Researcher at the Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation, and Robotics Technologies at USF I was tasked to program an Omnidirectional Dance Platform. This platform was built to be used by a wheelchair bound dancer. A mixed dance group at USF comprised of handicap and non-handicaped individuals will use the Dance Platform to dance on. The unique aspect of this mobile robot platform is the it is omnidirectional, meaning the platform can move in any direction (360 degrees). This possed a unique programming change that I was able to overcome.
