I help leaders grow and be adaptive. I am passionate about advancing the mission and vision of purpose-based organizations, with a soft spot for the broader public sector and non-profits and in particular universities and colleges. I have successfully enhanced reputations and impact, enabled future success, and fostered public affairs, fundraising, alumni, community and corporate partnerships, and major capital projects. And my greatest success has been unleashing the potential of individuals and teams and seeing them remain resilient and thriving.In 2024 I began a new chapter as an executive coach and consultant after over two decades of experience as a senior leader - the last seventeen of which was in post-secondary. In December 2023 I successfully defended my dissertation for the Executive Masters in Change Leadership (EMC), a joint program between Oxford Said School of Business and HEC Paris. The program provided a wealth of strategies and approaches to help individual and organizations through change. The focus of my dissertation was to explore how senior leaders in universities navigate change and keep going. The research was based on interviews with 25 senior university leaders in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Also in December I received my coaching certification in SPARK Resilience to better support individuals and teams to meet their full potential and thrive.I left the University of Guelph in late 2023 charged with leading a division of 100 talented individuals - building and strengthening the University's key external relationships. Through my leadership and the empowerment of my talented direct reports and their teams, the University of Guelph enhanced its brand presence, established stronger relationships with governments and communities, and took fundraising results and alumni engagement to new heights. While I personally worked on the largest seven and eight figure gifts the university ever received, the accomplishment I am most proud of is being an authentic and values based leader who develops, mentors, and unlocks the talent of individuals and teams.Throughout my post-secondary career at the University of Guelph, and Seneca College (as VP Strategy and College Affairs) and the University of Toronto (as AVP Government, Community and Institutional Relations) I have a proven track record of mentoring leaders, finding solutions to complex problems, designing innovative plans and strategies, helping organizations and teams adapt and evolve, and thriving in multi-stakeholder environments.
