Photography and graphic design are both strong passions in my life and will both be until I can’t hold the camera up or concept ideas visually. Photography had been taught to me by my father, a professional photographer in Germany (RAF), London and Mid-Wales for over 40 years. He took me under his wing, showed me the basics and spoke of F-stops, depth of field and darkroom exposure times until the blank look of my face disappeared.I hope I have culminated the advice and experience from my dad, and with my graphic design training, more importantly the science of composition and what the minds eye likes to look at, into a visual artist capable of producing images that the customer likes, I like to show the customer and more importantly, what is nice to look at. How nice.I choose to go against the grain last year and open a photographic and graphic design studio on Market Street in Newtown, Powys, Mid-Wales called The Badger Sett. It's a small space but serves the purposes perfectly for me to have a shop window on the (Market) High Street, to hold meetings with clients and customers and then to move my large picture wall/screen to transform the space into a studio. After being stuck behind a screen most of my working life, it's nice to have a bit more of a customer facing role. If you're ever in Newtown, come say hello. And bring coffee, black no sugar. Diolch!
