Negotiation of property matters on behalf of the Council in its best interests… Show more Providing an efficient and responsive estates management service by coordination and management of the Council’s Farm Estate of around 2200 hectares.Management of farm holdings, including new lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews and surrenders and compliance with lease terms.Providing advice on property matters, having regard to relevant legal and financial implications to all client services. Negotiation of property matters on behalf of the Council in its best interests. Working with farm management agents to facilitate the management of the Farm Estate portfolio to ensure the best yield for the Council and to ensure that lease terms are complied with.Preparation and facilitation of valuation reports of land and property, conveyance plans and transaction reports including participation in the annual asset valuation programme in accordance with professional guidance and standards. Undertaking accurate GPS surveys with production of plans on the GIS.Undertaking property surveys and inspections, and preparation of schedules of condition and dilapidations. Monitoring works undertaken and working with colleagues and building contractors as well as agricultural contractors to efficiently maintain the farm estate.Responsibility for attention to requests and enquiries from farm tenants, Council departments, external organisations, Councillor’s and members of the public concerning Council owned farmland. Liaison with farm tenants, officers within CBC, consultants, contractors, other public bodies and the public.Liaison with farm tenant’s agents for various tenancy matters including surrenders, building repairs, access to land with minimal disruption and compensation for crop loss.Preparation of forecasts for income and expenditure and ensuring the actual figures stay on target. Ensuring that responsive debt recovery action is taken.Management of the process for removal of unauthorised encampments on Council-owned land, including liaison with stakeholders. Show less
