As an engineer, Mr. Barshinger applies the principles of design, analysis, testing, and safety to forensic evaluations involving traffic accident investigation and reconstruction. His professional background includes mechanical engineering positions in the manufacturing and consulting industries. His manufacturing experience includes assembling and testing electronic components and various products. Mr. Barshinger has been involved in design for assembly, as well as product defect allegation cases involving a wide range of products. He has received specialized training in accident reconstruction and traffic collision investigation. His training also includes preserving and analyzing data stored in vehicles such as airbag modules, engine control modules, GPS, and infotainment systems, as well as video footage analysis from various sources. He conducts vehicle accident and mechanical component investigations for a number of clients throughout the southeast United States. Mr. Barshinger has also reconstructed crashes involving commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, agricultural equipment, motorcycles, bicycles, personal mobility devices, and pedestrians, and he is Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certified.
