Crime Lab and Education Lab: My job is to support both Labs by creating Data Use Agreements with our Partners so our analysts can access the data for their projects. I work with teams to identify data needs, work with the partners to draft and negotiate contracts regarding the data sharing, and help project teams understand their responsibilities to the partners. I also serve as one of the main liaisons to the Chicago Police Department for both Labs.Previous life: I am an educational professional with 15 years’ experience. As a high school teacher, I instructed Honors level, Regular, and Special Services students in English (reading, writing, and speaking), World Literature, Philosophy, US History, and Art History. I trained teachers as the district’s expert in “Cooperative Learning” where I led multi-day workshops and presented on that topic at the National Council of English Teachers annual convention. I am a skilled writer and editor, with an engaging presence speaking before large groups. I’ve traveled to 32 countries and have the skills to lead groups through unfamiliar cultures, different cuisines, and challenging environments. I have experience with Spanish, French, German, and Swahili languages, and enjoy working and interacting with people of all backgrounds. Finally, I enjoy leading critical analysis and discussion of restaurants and theater.
