I spent the summer of 2010 in Berlin as a business analyst for RIA financial services' German corporate branch. RIA, a Euronet Worldwide subsidiary, is the third largest money transfer company in the world. In the Berlin office, I worked directly under the branch Manager and CFO, as well as with corporate accounting. Responsibilities included:- Production of store-by-store accounting data for internal use- Store profitability analysis including review of historical performance, break-even figures, competition/market data, and pricing tactics - Development of budgets and revenue forecasts, including sensitivity testing- Market research and corridor analysis to aid in national business development strategies- Assisted in regular accounting duties such as account reconciliations, scheduling for prepaid and accrual accounts, transaction bookings- Implemented operational efficiencies and internal controls by streamlining accounting/finance procedures or schedulesIn addition to my regular duties (and navigating life in a foreign country), I learned a great deal related to cooperation of different cultural styles in an international business environment and the challenges that multinational corporations face.

Triple-I Corporation is a B2B technology consultancy in the Kansas City area that focuses on application of emerging technology to deliver innovative business solutions. As a summer intern, I took on several projects to support management in evaluating internal operations, corporate structure/culture and business development strategies. Additionally, I supported the business development team with client presentations, social media marketing, production of marketing collateral, and event planning.
