I have established and ran my sole trader business providing joinery work in a mostly private domestic environment. Operating on a word of mouth basis, securing work in order to enable my further studying into higher education. The responsibilities include establishing a client base, planning and scheduling all business, sourcing materials and labour resource, financial management, liasing with clients, and carrying out works.

I worked on a semi-voluntary basis with the Abernethy trust for a period of 14 weeks in a maintenance operative position. Tasks included a broad spectrum of planned and reactive maintenance, emergency repairs and planned upgrades to the estates buildings and grounds. Living and working on site provided the opportunity to build strong relationships with co-workers and row communication and team working skills, alongside the chance to take responsibility and lead projects with small teams.

Short term sub-contract to supply labour to replace PVCU windows and doors, and fit exterior cladding systems.

Employed in kitchen and bathroom refitting works.

Employed as apprentice joiner where I learned my trade through experience on-site and studying at South Lanarkshire College.
