I am the Senior Case Handler within the Motor Department of a large and reputable national law firm with over 10 years’ extensive experience in Tort Law, for both claimant and defendant, and which comprises fast-track and multi-track claims. I have experience in motor claims, occupier's liability claims, pedestrian claims and animal claims along with referred work for private-paying clients and staff claims. I have had the privilege of excellent experience in attendance at Trials to sit behind Counsel, in addition to preparing Briefs and Trial Bundles for Circuit Judges and District Judges, in addition to Barristers for both Claimants and Defendants. I am a confident advocate with well-developed communication skills and I have a high level of experience in all aspects of civil litigation. As the Senior Case Handler, in addition to handling upwards of 150 cases of my own, I have responsibilities to develop and assist my colleagues in more complex matters, such as complaint files, difficult medical evidence and complex liability disputes. I have a good understanding of relevant case law and I am happy and willing to take difficult decisions if they are in the best interests of the firm. At times this can be contrary to the wishes of my client but I am confident that the decisions I make are correct and take pride in the fact that I can explain these decisions to the client themselves, the insurers and the Legal Expense providers. I am confident in the work I do and enjoy working under my own steam as well as within a team environment. I seek to continue my development into a managerial role and consider that I have the key skills and motivations to be successful. I have recently completed a managerial course which contained elements such as managing resources, performance management, customer service, motivations and behaviours and this of great interest to me.
