Duties in my current position as part of the Public Safety Network Management Center within PSBA involve the diagnosis and resolution of network faults, including WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, video conferencing, VoIP and satellite link issues, as well as managing and implementing changes to network infrastructure. This is usually performed in conjunction with site users, as well as vendors and service providers. This is done across equipment from several vendors, including Cisco, H3C/HP and Juniper. On-call duties are also a regular part of this role. I am required to work within the ITIL processes for these activities, and in line with the ISO 20000 standard.From May 2017 to March 2018, I was on secondment to the PSNMC 2.0 switch upgrade project.In this role, I was responsible for liaising with both contractors and clients on-site in order toreplace the existing PSNMC switching infrastructure with Juniper switches.

During this time, I was involved with the diagnosis and troubleshooting of network faults, as well as scoping out and managing vendors to fulfill client requirements. I was also involved in the management and documentation of information security infrastructure, including F5 firewalls and RADIUS Radiator AAA servers.

In this role, my duties included the provision of support for desktop PCs and mobile (Windows Phone) devices. This involved diagnosis and troubleshooting of both hardware and application issues. I was also required to manage servers, both virtual and real, through the use of VMWare and Windows Server software. Administration of user accounts via Active Directory was also a significant part of my duties.

This included performing on-call duties on a regular basis, handling major service incidents and undertaking escalation procedures with the carriers if required.
