After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2007, I worked for AECOM, beginning as a Graduate Consultant and progressing to a Principal Consultant within the Transportation sector. Here I gained skills and experience working within the Preliminary Design Team on a range of feasibility studies, corridor studies and network modelling. It was during this time that I developed expertise using traffic modelling software, notably VISSIM and LINSIG. From AECOM I joined microsimulation company Multimodal (which later became PJA), where I took on a specialised and technical role. During this time, I was responsible for the delivery of traffic modelling projects for clients including private developers, transport consultants and public transport bodies. I am now working as a Technical Director & Modelling Specialist for Modelling Group, a small, independent team of highly skilled industry experts. Here I continue to work in a specialised and technical role, delivering a variety of traffic modelling projects to a range of clients.During my career, I have been responsible for the delivery of numerous preliminary design projects for both the private and public sector. I have experience of Development Control and have acted on behalf of Highways England (now National Highways), reviewing transport assessments and travel plans for large-scale planning applications. I have also acted on behalf of the developer and on behalf of National Highways on separate Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, where both Strategic Rail Freight Interchange proposals were accepted by the Secretary of State. I have also provided technical modelling support for a Transport and Works Act application for a major public transport scheme in the West Midlands.Through my drive to continuously improve, I have expanded my technical and specialist skills to include complex signal control (using VisVAP & PC MOVA), car and coach parking, pedestrian modelling (using VisWALK), cyclist modelling, distribution centre modelling and logistical/internal operational modelling through the diverse project workload.I am also a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the CIHT.
Listed skills include Traffic Engineering, Feasibility Studies, Road Traffic, Civil Engineering, and 23 others.
