About Daniel Beshah (Ph.D.)
My name is Daniel Beshah. My educational background is in medical lab technology. I completed my master's degree in laboratory management and quality assurance. Finally, I completed my PhD program at Addis Abeba University's microbial cellular and molecular biology department. As a medical laboratory technician, I began my career at Addis Abeba University College of Health Science Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital. This hospital is Ethiopia's largest specialized and teaching facility, with seven laboratory sub-departments and approximately 102 permanent and contract laboratory personnel. I've been with the laboratory department since May 2005, working as a technician for three years, a technologist for six, a quality officer for five, and a laboratory manager for four. The remaining years were spent pursuing academic goals. During my tenure (as a quality officer and laboratory manager), the team I led was able to standardize the laboratory with a WHO-AFRO quality management system rated four out of five stars, and the hospital is now ISO 15189 certified. I worked part-time as a laboratory quality assessor, external supervisor, and business consultant in several private hospitals and medical centers.
