Lead Cost EngineerWood Mar 2008 - Dec 2011Aberdeen, GbTransferred onto the Total Contract as the Lead Cost Engineer managing a team of 6 in Aberdeen and Glasgow and responsible for the Elgin and Franklin Assets (£25m/year) and the standalone Elgin Additional Living Quarters Project (£35m):Responsible for all budgets, client PO’s, commitment, expenditure, value of work done, accruals, cost forecasting and reporting on a monthly basis across all assets and projects. Issued Contract wide reports for all change requests, commercial close outs, indirect and non-productive trends etc. and highlighted any areas of concerns and actions to be completed.Regular cost reviews with project management and Total to highlight variances to budget and changes from previous forecasts. Regular reviews with the key Elgin ALQ sub-contractor including weekly visits to the module fabrication yard to check on progress in-line with the agreed milestone payments. Managed cost risk reviews using BP BRISK software and holding risk review sessions prior to estimates being issued to BP for approval to determine the unallocated provision that would be applied to the estimate.Deputised for the project controls manager when required.Part of the project team to review the existing cost, planning and estimating toolsets to identify areas of improvement and work towards replacing and upgrading the existing toolsets. Closely assisted the Implementation team in the upgrade of the cost system from mpower 3 to mpower 4 and helped develop the system requirements and testing before ‘go live’ in 2008.
