Daniel Birnbaum is an associate in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Chicago office, where he is a member of the Workplace Safety and Health practice group. Mr. Birnbaum focuses his practice on OSHA regulatory compliance counseling and workplace safety and whistleblower litigation. From providing boots on the ground advice during fatality inspections to litigating cases in a first chair capacity before administrative agencies, Mr. Birnbaum has extensive experience in all aspects related to workplace safety and health inspections and litigation.Mr. Birnbaum also maintains an active pro bono practice. He has assisted a holocaust survivor in obtaining reparations from the German government, helped obtain a favorable outcome for an internet blogger related to free speech rights, as well as counseled numerous small businesses on employment obligations.Mr. Birnbaum graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, summa cum laude. During law school he earned the High A for Legal Writing in both semesters of his first year and for First Amendment Law. He was an Executive Business Editor for the Cleveland-Marshall Law Review. He was also on the Board of Governors of the Cleveland-Marshall Moot Court Team. He also worked during law school as an intern for the Honorable Dan A. Polster of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Prior to law school, Mr. Birnbaum worked in the office of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
