Lorimer Publishing of Toronto is the publisher. In the April-May 2014 issue of Canada's History Magazine (pp. 52-53) respected Canadian military historian and author Tim Cook stated that co-authors "Dan Black...and John Boileau tell the compelling story of Canada's war effort through these underage witnesses." The review notes that "...the greatest strength of Old Enough to Fight is that these stories may resonate deeply with today's youth and help them connect with the war of one hundred years ago. Knowing that thousands of teenagers served in the trenches may help today's youth reflect upon the service, sacrifice, and folly of a Canada and its peoples that seems both very far away and ever so close."The Halifax Chronicle Herald wrote: "Old Enough to Fight grips the imagination by its vivid portrayal of the youngsters through whose eyes one sees unimaginable conditions on the Western Front." Just weeks after the book was released, both authors were guests on CBC's The Current. On May 26, 2014,TV Ontario (TVO, the Agenda in the Summer) taped an interview with Dan which was aired in July.
