Over 12 years experience in various student focused support, teaching and leadership roles within Primary and Further Education. I have been privileged to work with students of all age groups and abilities including students with High Needs. As a fully qualified and now experienced designated safeguarding Officer I work within a Safeguarding team in Student Services. I have written and contributed to a number of College policies and strategies including Equality and Diversity, Prevent, Student Engagement and Student Voice. Im a firm believer that an outstanding student voice policy and system is Integral to running an outstanding student experience. I currently manage a learner voice system for a Student body of over 3,000 Students which includes apprentices, 16-19 age group, Access and Higher education. I currently coordinate an Enrichment programme that aims to meet the needs of and inspire every learner. Additionally, I am experienced in delivering a number of safeguarding subjects in a tutorial programme such as PREVENT, sexual health & contraception, alcohol, drugs, and digital safety. Organising high quality professional events is one of my key strengths. These have ranged from political hustings, speeches from Internationally acclaimed authors, careers fairs , student focused safeguarding talks and awareness campaigns. My Educational background is Tourism with a BA Honours in Tourism Management. Studying with students from around the world helped me to appreciate culture, equality and diversity and raise my own personal aspirations.I am currently a Labour party Councillor for Great Dawley Town Council in the wards of Dawley Bank and Malinslee. I also promote Tourism in Southwater Telford.
