Following a move from the area that resulted in me leaving GTB several months earlier, the company asked that I return to assist with a spike in their hiring needs. The remote position quickly evolved into a hybrid situation where HR business partner activities were added to the equation. This meant managing both outside and inside life cycle recruitment as well as all duties from my former position as Talent Manager & HR Business Partner. In this and all positions with GTB, I gained tremendous access to leadership. The company also underwent a global merger and acquisition, where I played a large part in the US interest. 3DEXCITE’s software, solutions, and CGI services provide high-end 3-D visualizations in real-time for high-impact storytelling across all media channels. Leveraging source data, 3DEXCITE opens up creative freedom to deliver emotional assets for digital, interactive marketing, and sales experiences. One of the most satisfying learning experiences of my career occurred during an exit interview. The departing 3DEXCITE employee shared his dissatisfaction with the state of the company’s office chairs. Following the meeting, I visited the existing employee group, observing first hand the issues the exiting employee had raised. Many of the chairs were old or broken – some even held together with duct tape. After sitting for 8+ hours every day, a good deal of the team complained they were uncomfortable to the point of pain. Following my recommendation to upper management, every chair was promptly replaced with comfortable and ergonomically sound ones. The result? Miraculous! The entire team celebrated with t-shirts on “New Chair” day. Not only did the incidence of sick time decrease, but productivity went up along with morale, and job satisfaction. I will never forget the impact of this seemingly small gesture, which came to fruition after I listened to and followed up on the feedback from a single concerned employee. Show less
