Daniel Block Email and Phone Number
Howdy there! My name is Daniel Block, and I am a senior at Brandeis University. As a Truman and Udall Scholar, I have garnered recognition for my adept and collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and building community amidst the challenges of climate change. In my capacity as co-director of Zumwalt Acres and as a Garden Intern at the Lemberg Children’s Center, I have demonstrated a consistent commitment to driving positive change and improving lives within diverse communities. My versatility allows me to effectively serve as an educator, project leader, community builder, farmer, advocate, writer, and more. Most recently, I served as a summer intern for the Honorable Judge Lee Rudofsky at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. By assisting in the adjudication of civil and criminal cases, I was able to see the inner workings of our judicial system while honing in my legal research and writing skills. I now serve as the Co-Editor in Chief for the Brandeis Undergraduate Law Journal, the only undergraduate legal publication unaffiliated with any law school. My academic pursuits intersect the realms of law, science, and history. Notably, I have authored an article in the Brandeis Undergraduate Law Journal on the topic of Gender Affirming Care and Religious Freedom, with another forthcoming publication (2025) focusing on the Major Questions Doctrine. Currently, I am engaged in a fully funded senior thesis project exploring the historical and contemporary responses of farmers in the American South to social, economic, and environmental crises. My diverse interests span sustainable and climate-smart agriculture, theology, law, church-state conflicts, taxonomy, sustainable development, and coexistence initiatives. Please feel free to reach out to discuss any of my research projects or experiences! I am always looking to make connections!
