  GENERAL SUMMARY:The Dining Room Wait Staff is responsible for serving residents and guest meals in the restaurant in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Assures that beveraging, delivery of each course, and busing are completed according to proper procedures and resident meal needs are met.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Takes orders, provides service, and answers questions about menu items both graciously and courteously.2. Ensures that orders are accurate & complete when served and that meal needs are met based on requests and diet restrictions.3. Delivers each course and clears dishes from tables during and after dinner service.4. Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order; completes set up for next day’s meal service including placing silverware, napkins and condiments.5. Follows proper food handling and sanitation procedures, washing hands frequently between handling soiled and clean dishes.6. Maintains a clean and neat appearance and wears appropriate uniform as required.7. Performs all other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:1. Some experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred.2. Skill in the basic techniques of table service.3. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.4. Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.5. Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, staff, visitors, and families.6. Ability to serve meals, understand guests’ special requests, and follow through with the service process in a friendly manner.7. Ability to learn and work with the dining point of service system.8. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.9. Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position.
