I am an epidemiologist interested in how our dietary habits, together with our genes and our physical and social environment, contribute to health and disease. The human diet is a complex, dynamic and interrelated exposure and one of my main goals is to improve the methods we use to study and model dietary intake.My main research foci are:1. Improving methods used in nutritional epidemiology to answer causal questions2. Investigation of the role of diet in prevention of type 3 diabetes and its complications in people living with type 2 diabetes3. Investigation of the health and environmental benefits and consequences of adherence to plant-based diets
