I served as a communications specialist for 12 years in a verity of roles. I have experience with network infrastructure, network monitoring, helpdesk operations, cyber security, tactical analog and digital radios, and project management.I served as a company communications specialist for 5 years where I was responsible for maintaining all the communications equipment including computers, radios, and a satellite terminal. I was responsible for creating computer accounts and ensuring all user remained up to date on certifications. I served as a section leader for 2 of the 12 years. I managed 15 people in daily operations including network maintenance, help desk operations and administrative operations. I have served as a team leader of a small team of communication advisors for 4 years where I was responsible for deploying and supervising a 4 man team. some of the services we provided were: satellite communications in remote areas, radio support and training for foreign nations, network setup and maintenance for forward operating bases. I spent 4 years in charge of a communications team for the division commander of the 3rd ID. I was responsible for setting up and maintaining all communications equipment the command group used. Some of my responsibilities included, handling the implementation and destruction of encryption for radios and network equipment. handling helpdesk operations, fielding new equipment, encrypting cell phones for government use. I have a total of 36 months deployed to Afghanistan which 24 of those in leadership roles.
