In 1987 was Co-founder of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and later Founded the Institute for Investment Management Consultants (IIMC) creating both the CIMA and CIMC designations, once those programs launched Dan became the first Certified Investment Management Consultant "CIMC" in the world. The two organizations later merged to become the largest membership organization representing professional investment management consultants with membership exceeding over 10,000. After creating the initial managed money program at Dean Witter in the mid 80's Dan went back into client consulting at E.F. Hutton which later became Salomon Smith Barney. Dan's entire professional career has been seamless as an investment management consultant. During this period Dan published two books on the subject, the first published by Dow Jones Irwin titled: The Wrap Account Investment Advisor" in 1993 and the second published in 2007 noted as the most comprehensive book on the subject titled: "The Art and Science of Investment Management Consulting" used as a text book and a primary reference guide for fiduciaries over a decade before the DOL Fiduciary Rule going into effect.
