(Version française en bas de page)I recently decided to move forward and start my own consulting services in contaminant hydrogeology. Over the years, I cumulated 17 years of knowledge regarding implementation of compound-specific isotope analysis (CSIA) on contaminated sites. With strong academic and analytical expertise gained in the laboratory and acting as a field hydrogeologist on contaminated sites gained as a consultant, I combine fundamental knowledge of the tool with the understanding of field implementation challenges and pitfalls that represents aquifer heterogeneity that only very few people have. I carry out CSIA assessments to address these issues: - Understanding the origin of on-site contaminants (groundwater - soil - indoor air) - Distinguishing 2 sources of the same contaminant on the same site (groundwater - soil - indoor air) - Assessing the fate of contaminants in aquifers (biodegradation versus physical attenuation processes) - Performance monitoring for in situ treatments (by distinguishing contaminant destructive vs non destructive processes vs dilution). J'offre un support spécialisé pour: - Investiguer sur l'origine des sources de contaminants - Distinguer 2 sources du même contaminant sur un même terrain - Évaluer le comportement des contaminants dans les sols, dans l'eau souterraine ou dans l'air (interstice du sol ou dans les bâtiments). - Démontrer l'efficacité et/ou les limitations d'un traitement in situ afin de l'optimiser - Établir une stratégie de traitement in situ en accord avec la géochimie du contaminant.Une meilleure comprehension du comportement des contaminants se traduit par un traitement ciblé et efficace.

My research interests lie in the investigation of the behaviour (transport and transformation processes) of organic contaminants in soil or in groundwater by means of stable isotopes. Furthermore, my interests also include more technical aspect, such as the development of investigation methods to characterize contaminated sites, vapor intrusions, as well as the development / enhancement of in-situ remediation technologies.

Upon my return in Canada in 2007, I joined SNC-Lavalin Environment Inc. I was involved in projects associated with urban soil contamination and groundwater contamination caused by industrial activities. In addition, I promoted the implementation CSIA at the consultant level for contaminated groundwater characterization and for source differentiation by means of seminars, course and leading field-level projects involving CSIA.
