At Galois I influence strategic thinking through financial insight, establish common understanding across the organization of key performance metrics, manage corporate risk and working capital, facilitate success within legal, HR, IT, and facilities functional areas, and execute on critical corporate initiatives. In addition, I enjoy enabling the Company's ESOP as the Internal Trustee, working with the Board as Corporate Secretary, and acting as the functional CFO for start-up companies spun out of Galois. Prior to working at Galois, I practiced employment law at Ogletree Deakins - representing private and public employers in all aspects of employment related litigation. As a practicing attorney, I successfully obtained jury defense verdicts in both state and federal courts. Before becoming an attorney, l worked in finance and treasury at Tektronix, a publicly traded high tech company. While in finance, I managed the company's internal financial reporting and contributed to preparing the company's monthly forecast, budget, and strategic plan. I shaped strategic decisions through extensive financial modeling for the corporate controller and treasurer. In addition, I worked closely with senior business partners to add strategic insight through a deep understanding of the business's financial numbers. While in treasury, I managed the company's foreign currency exposure, was a fiduciary for the retirement trust, supported corporate cash management, and facilitated the renewal of insurance plans. I live with my incredible wife and two wonderful children in West Linn, Oregon.
