This position was a customer service and management intensive role, with responsibilities ranging on the daily. Apart from leading coworkers through the process of hosting parties and attending families, leads are also responsible for communicating with customers through via phone and email to plan and confirm party details. We were also expected to train new hires on the ropes of customer service, make schedules and book parties, take inventory, clean and set up party rooms, check families in and out, register guests, and place food orders for the families being hosted.

At Arena Sports, I coached developmental soccer classes for kids between the ages of 18 months to 7 years old, with class material ranging from beginner to intermediate soccer skills. As coaches, we developed and carried out curriculum consisting of games and drills that were both fun and engaging while also challenging students to learn a variety of fundamental soccer techniques. The incorporation of age appropriate difficulty, creative elements, and social relationship building with both kids and their parents helped create a more robust learning experience. Apart from this, work hours also included a variety of other roles such as: Co-coach, Trainer, Inflatables Monitor, and Vaccination Card Verifier.

As a Conclave student advisor for Rainier Scholars, I mentored a group of middle school students currently in the Academic Enrichment Phase of the program. In our monthly meetings over Zoom, we would discuss how our identity impacts our every day life from microaggressions, access to voting, and educational opportunities. We also discussed BIPOC role models who are shaping are world, and how we can learn to harness our identities to enact change.
