Currently, I am completing my Associate's degree in Health Information Management. My background is a mix of different industries and skills. My earliest job out of high school was in construction where I learned the various aspects of residential construction. My primary responsibilities were that of an apprentice to some very seasoned carpenters and electricians. After construction, I went through basic training and MOS training in the United States Army/Reserves. My MOS was an 88 Mike which is in transportation. I drove multiple vehicles from tanker trucks to Humvees and the like. During my Amry reserve time, I also worked at Wolf Creek a nuclear power plant in southeastern Kansas. I was in the security department as an armed guard and as well as helped to train the security forces as a member of the contingency attack team. Around 2004 I was honorably discharged from the Army and left my position at Wolf Creek to pursue other avenues of life. For about a year I worked as the maintenance director at a rural nursing home. While working as a maintenance director I became interested in online gaming and again switched my career path learning how to navigate languages and databases such as MySQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. It was during this time that I first attended some college classes taking prerequisite courses towards an associate's degree. This was however was short-lived as I opened my online gaming business called Cove Of Pirates Gaming where I created and maintained several online games. After six years of maintaining and operating multiple web platforms, I sold my business to move on to other avenues of employment. I worked briefly in the aerospace industry as a sheet metal mechanic reading blueprints and building various structures for the Boeing 737 jetliner. I then changed career paths again to accept a position with Tyson Foods and eventually held the title of master industrial mechanic. This job eventually took me from Kansas to Arkansas where I continued to work for Tyson Foods until a heart condition required double bypass surgery. It was during the months of recovery that I became interested in the medical field and decided to throw caution to the wind resigning from my position and started school at Northwest Community College taking prerequisite classes and eventually entering into the Health Information Management Associates degree course I am currently completing.
