Finance Business Partner to the Operations team, supporting Retail stores (numbering 400+ and organised into 19+ areas throughout tenure), Customer Services and Central Operations. Forecasting and cost control management of over £120m with responsibility of key variable cost line in store payroll. Key achievements;- Named Finance "Star of the Month" out of 150+ team. - Presented to the Executive Committee on store payroll savings opportunities in light of volatile forecasts. Subsequent action led to over £700k within one monthly reporting period and new ways of working beyond. - Supported Customer Services migration to an offshore team in a project which increased size and capability of the department. - Rolled out new suite of reporting to give improved rolling and trending data sets. - Performed deep dive into KPIs prompting changes in two key KPI calculations to ensure greater reporting transparency and fairness. - Supported and tracked performance of stores during volatile pandemic trading and completion of two key projects which shut c.40 stores in the estate and rolled out a new operating model/training programme.

Entering my third year of the graduate scheme at Deloitte I finished my ACA exams (qualifying in December 2019 with first time passes and a total average of 76% across 15 exams) and progressed to a more senior role on three main FTSE clients in the Housebuilding, Utilities and Hospitality sectors. I continue to develop skills as a field manager, acting as an intermediary between management, the client and the field audit team. I have gained exposure to testing significant audit risks and significant accounting judgements such as goodwill, going concern and provisions. I have partnered successfully with a variety of stakeholders to deliver insights into processes and controls, working as both a team leader and team member to produce results to tight deadlines.

Having worked at Deloitte for a year I achieved promotion from Associate to Senior Associate. In my second year at Deloitte I completed the professional level exams of the ACA with first-time passes (average 77%)I gained second year continuity on a series of FTSE 100/250 audits in the Housebuilding, Utilities and Hospitality sectors.

I worked at the Windmill Village Hotel during all university holidays and some ad hoc weekends during term time.In my time as a waiter at the Windmill Village Hotel I generally worked breakfast shifts with responsibilities to provide a high level of customer service to guests of a four star plus hotel.

As Personal Skills Award Induction Lead I presented an introductory session for the various PSA awards to up to 60 students at a time. As the sole presenter I am entrusted with dealing with administrative sign ups, presenting using PowerPoint slides for approximately 45 minutes, and fielding individual questions at the end of the session. I performed this paid role up to three times a week during term time alongside my third year studies.

The three week Deloitte Summer Vacation Scheme saw me work on a variety of audits from large FTSE clients to SMEs. Following the internship I was offered and accepted a place on the Deloitte graduate scheme for 2017 as an Audit Associate where I would go on to complete the ACA qualification.

As brand ambassador I had to act as the Deloitte point of reference on canvas, promoting Deloitte careers events to students. As well as promoting Deloitte through lecture shout outs, flyering, social media posts and communication with various careers networks, I had to also develop strong relationships with target campus societies.
