Throughout my career I have been extremely fortunate to gather experience across a wide variety of industries, design disciplines, and with companies of every size and structure. Beginning in a small start-up agency with graphic design work to support brand identity and brand strategy projects, I progressed into a product centered 3D modeling and rapid prototyping role (3D print/laser/carpentry). Eventually my responsibilities expanded into project management, and I took on client facing communications and the management of personnel, project deadlines, budget, and logistics. After moving to Maine, I started in the defense industry as a technical designer/draftsman in a large corporate environment. Over the next 4 years I progressed steadily into higher-responsibility roles including team mentor, work leader(assistant supervision), production liaison designer, and eventually on to design project coordinator. I think this variety of experience has given me a unique perspective on how scale, collaboration, and communication informs a business's culture and vision. It has been a huge advantage to work at every level from production to corporate management and learn how each of those roles functions as part of the whole. In the future, I would like to move toward another active designer role where I have the chance to work on meaningful products alongside a motivated team that values innovation, sustainability, and beautiful design.
