The Queensland Parliamentary Service supports the Legislative Assembly of Queensland (Parliament) and its Members. The IT function supports 550 customers across ~100 locations and includes internal operations, Electorate Offices, Members of Parliament, and shared services customers (other agencies).The Head of IT role, also the designated Chief Information Security Officer, is responsible for all strategic and operational elements of the IT function. The business has goals of digitisation and optimisation, and I was employed to drive strategic change. Using enterprise architecture as a catalyst, I developed a new 3-year ICT strategy for the organisation that focused on a transition to cloud, improving information security, digitisation of information assets and processes, and improving the customer experience.To date and most significantly, I have implemented stronger governance over the ICT project portfolio, implemented a dozen information security improvements, delivered a platform for digitisation, and established (and obtained funding for) a project to transition Electorate Office and Member services to a cloud-based technology model.

Slater and Gordon acquired Trilby Misso Lawyers in August 2010. I was Brisbane-based managed 13 resources in Melbourne. I was responsible for:• Technology strategy and operational implementation• Line and task management of a dispersed IT team delivering national services• Application support, maintenance and enhancement• Integration of acquisitions and associated assets• Technology project executionKey achievements:• Procurement process improvements resulting in 30% increase in value on spend• Successful integration of 10+ acquisitions including Trilby Misso Lawyers• Delivery of business improvements through ideation, planning and execution of national infrastructure and service management projects

As member of the Senior Management Team, I was tasked with maturing the IT function and assets to help the firm support a rapid and significant growth strategy. I managed 5 direct reports with P&L responsibility. During my employment I was provided with an Executive Coach to accelerate the development of my people leadership capabilities and learned to drive a high performance culture.Key achievements:• Delivery of digital document solution producing ~$1m productivity benefit per annum• Implementation of Disaster Recovery solution and strategy in line with Business Continuity requirements. Serviced over 60 organisations across all verticals including legal, financial, engineering, retail and food supply.Obtained in-depth technical experience with the majority of market leading products and instilled an appreciation for the importance of client service, communication and ethical conduct.
