Within this role I was responsible for creating the CNC programmes using Hexagon’s software AlphaCAM. Producing the programmes from 2D drawings or CAD files such as AutoCAD, CATIA V4 & V5 and SolidEdge. I had to create programmes to cut materials that include MDF, plastics and composite honeycomb board. I also supported with design and shop floor queries relating to any programming issues at project meetings.

I started here on a two year trainee scheme, giving me the opportunity to learn how to read and understand technical drawings. I was also able to gain experience in each department working through each one, which allowed me to understand the technical specifications, procedures and processes with the aerospace industry.Once this was finished, I became a CNC Operator. Operating the WADKIN 3 axis, HOMAG 3 axis and ANDI STRATOS 3 axis machines. I was able to load tooling list, gained experience in editing programmes
