I am passionate about biotechnology. Ever since I began my career I have wanted to take my interest in biology and explore the business and law sides of the biotechnology industry. To that end, I crafted my education for a broad view of the biological sciences. Instead of gaining expertise in one field and focusing on a thesis project in one narrow area of biology I have taken classes and worked in labs in many different disciplines. I have taken that broad education and applied it to management and business development positions in healthcare and biotechnology related fields. My academic and biotech industry background have shown me that the scientific research cycle is broken. Public money is used fund grant programs that support most basic science R&D, because governments know that R&D generates economic value in the long run through new products, new markets, and product improvement. But there is no accountability between the grant funding and the final product, the published article, and it is well known that scientific publishing in itself is broken. Lastly, the economic value of scientific R&D is captured almost entirely by corporations who don't care where the data their innovation is built on came from and are liable to misuse it. I am working with Opscientia to solve this problem and more with the help of Web3 technology.

I also independently selected promising technologies for further development and was involved in writing the development materials as well as grant proposals for those technologies.
