I'm a physicist with an optics background. I am a strong interdisciplinary thinker and consider myself a pragmatist. I believe in growth mentality. I am currently developing machines used in optics fabrication - supporting project progression, internal processes, and equipment manufacturers. I enjoy adding to technical discussions and solutions finding. I'm of the rare INTJ personality type - defined as an analytical problem-solver, with a talent to improve systems and processes. I'm a critical thinker, I try to structure and understand things and see if they hold up to scrutiny. I'm interested in technology but even more in using it in meaninful ways. My interests expand into human psychology as well as more recently entrepreneurship which is something I try to get up to speed with. People typically view me as a good sparring partner for discussing ideas, generally pleasant and fun. I'm creative and a fast learner. I have brought several interdisciplinary, third party-funded research projects (EU, national funded) and industry studies to success, both as project manager, researcher and collaborator. My achievements include: - Execution of 3-year national funded projects- Execution of industry projects (6 months - 3 years duration)- Contributions to long-running, technology assessment project (literature research | model building and analysis | presenting of results in reports and presentations to industry representatives)- Shaping and management of the participation in a large EU-funded project- Development of a MATLAB simulation environment (aeronautical ad-hoc communication networks): in collaboration with students, I developed models, integrated a flight schedule database, and online databases for weather data into a coherent simulation tool for statistical analyses; resulting in several publications, workshop presentations, industry projects and proposals- Mentoring and teaching of students and PhDs, both at University and in my current position- (Co-)authored workplans, work package descriptions, Gantt charts, roadmaps, financial planning and contracts
