Daniel Chung is an associate professor, building science at the University of Toronto, Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. Dr. Chung has professional licenses and advanced academic degrees in both architecture (M.Arch) and engineering (PhD & MSE). His current research area focuses on building simulation, analysis and verification of building envelopes in both historic and new buildings to better predict the effects of climate change on buildings. Degradation, stochastic, and regression analyses have been used to study the probabilistic distribution and long term behavior of building envelopes.Dr. Chung is a licensed architect and structural engineer in Pennsylvania. His work as an architect at MGA Partners and as an engineer at Keast & Hood Co. in Philadelphia focused mostly on buildings for higher education and historic structures. As an engineer at Dewhurst MacFarlane in New York City he specialized in structural glazing and façade engineering.
