At Fluorsid I worked directly under guidance from the Chairman and formed part of the operational management team working in conjunction with the Mine Manager and Processing Plant manager. My work included operational management input at Milldam mine and Cavendish Mill, managing of technical personnel and contractors, mentoring of young graduates, mine planning and budgeting, ore production forecasting, geological data collection and interpretation, geo-technical data collection and interpretation, mineralogical & metallurgical data collection and interpretation, generation of technical reports, development of new technical systems of work, development of safety management systems in compliance with statutory Mines Regulations, competency and training management, cost reporting, involvement in environmental and restoration projects, planning activities with the Peak District National Park Authority, community awareness and Corporate Social Responsibility, business strategy, strategy and supporting work for complying and dealing with the two main regulators, and many other aspects related to running a mining operation in the UK.

During my time at LRM I worked on a large number of exploration and mining projects that allowed me to develop a wide range of skills and competencies working under guidance from company owner and sole Director. Some the highlights below:Argentina, 2016 to Present – Senior Project ManagerSenior project manager with a fly-in fly-out role developing a portfolio of Fluorite exploration assets in the southern part of Argentina. Initial role was focussed on developing the technical information for the project to move it up the development curve and make it suitable for external investment. Subsequently this role evolved to include lead point of contact in share purchase negotiations, drafting legal / commercial agreements, liaising with the legal team, legal strategy, commercial strategy, corporate strategy, and other aspects related to day-to-day company management and board level decision making. UK (Fluorsid British Fluorspar Ltd), 2013 to Present – Senior Technical ManagerLong term involvement with FBFL Fluorspar operations in Derbyshire, UK. Initially my role was to provide geological support to the mining management as required; over the years this has expanded to providing technical support, management, and direction in all areas of the operation. I work directly under guidance from the Chairman and form part of the operational management team working in conjunction with the Mine Manager and Processing Plant manager. Serbia & wider Balkan area, 2014 to 2019 – Lead Exploration & Geological AdvisorDuring my time in the Balkans I was working in a consultancy role providing the local partner with exploration strategy and advice to develop their small scale poly-metallic and precious metal projects.Ethiopia, 2013 to 2016 – Senior Exploration GeologistDeveloping three exploration areas prospective for gold deposits in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia I held the role of Senior Exploration Geologist managing a team of local in-country geologists.

Working as an Exploration Geologist my duties included: Resource development; Interpretation of geochemical data to generate targets for further exploration; Planning of field work activities; Budgeting for planned exploration activities; Extensive use of ArcGIS and Geosoft Target; Planning of drillholes; Supervision of field workers; Community awareness and initiatives; Organising daily safety talks; Examination of QA/QC data and liaising with laboratories; Supervision of sampling; Generation of conceptual geological models for interpretation of mineralisation; Interpretation of assay data; Interpretation of Geophysical data including airborne/ground magnetics and radiometrics; Field mapping; Detailed examination of historic data; Logging of core and RC chips; and any other duties as requires.

Two months spent on an advanced gold exploration camp in Ethiopia, with Nyota Minerals Ltd, working towards my thesis, the title of which is: “Investigation into the physical, geochemical and mineralogical characteristics of the Tulu Kapi gold project, Ethiopia”

Merit grade received for Mining Geology MSc postgraduate course. The course comprises: Mineral resource estimation, Ore deposit geology and Industrial minerals, Mineral extraction, processing and the environmental impact of mining, and Techniques in mining geology. Following the taught program, which ended in early May 2012, I undertook a research project of relavance within the mining industry and thus produced a dissertation which was handed in September 2012

Working as Courier in charge I had 5 staff and was in charge of 76 holiday units, comprising 18 tents and 58 mobile homes of various sizes. My duties included; organising each days cleaning tasks and allocating them fairly, completing booking charts, dealing with customers / customers complaints, being in charge of campsite float, dealing with OSRES and many other day to day tasks associated with the running of a campsite.
