Coaching pitchers is one of the most satisfying things I've ever done. Being able to meet a baseball player as young as 9 that's eager to learn brings me tremendous pleasure. Meeting their families, watching them steadily improve and grow into young men is what makes it fun. Having dozens of them go on to succeed at the collegiate and even professional level is the ultimate source of pride.

At the height of Covid, moved from Charlotte back to West Virginia. In need of work, I underwent MSHA safety training and was hired as a red-hat miner working low coal at the Black Eagle Mine in Parksville, WV. Was trained at numerous positions including belt operator, driller, heavy equipment operator and blasting assistant. After about a year, I was proudly promoted to Black Hat (certified miner). The most demanding job I have ever had, and something I never imagined I would be doing. However, despite the dangers and confined spaces it was the most rewarding job I have ever had. I gained an immense respect for the generations of families, men and women, who work those WV mines not giving a second thought to the sacrifices it entails. I learned alot about what I am capable of, what I can endure, my strengths/weaknesses, and gained an ability to make decisions under pressure

After coaching under numerous organizations, I was encouraged to go out on my own with the help of the fathers of a few of my regular pitching clients. Gathering 16 of the best 13-14 year olds from Rock Hill, Chester, Fort Mill, York and South Charlotte, we put together what I named "Upstate Select Baseball." We converted a 200' × 80' barn outside Rock Hill into an indoor practice facility exclusively for our team. Grew into the most tight-knit group of players and parents I have ever been around. At the end of the last fall season they had grown into an impressive group of talent. I was able to get two of my top pitchers accepted on an exclusive invite only program run by former major leaguers Jeff Schaefer and pitching legend Jack Mcdowell. 10 of those players went on to earn baseball scholarships

Baseball has been my lifelong passion, though never had the opportunity to make a career out of playing it, I devoted much of my free time to coaching showcase travel teams as well as high school teams. I learned from some of the finest coaches in the Charlotte Metro and became especially adept as a pitching coach, doing as many as 15 lessons per week. Proud to list over 80 former players that went on to earn college baseball scholarships at ever level (D1, D2, DIII, NAIA, JuCo). As of 2023, at least 13 have gone on to be drafted by MLB organizations or sign as a free agent. Many others have played professionally in various Independent leagues, some even becoming coaches themselves.

Served as the Head Baseball Coach for multiple 16u, 17u, and 18u teams with SBA. Also assisted other teams within our organization when necessary. Played up to 60 games each summer and another 20-30 in the fall. Hosted some tournaments and traveled all over the southeast to some of the most renowned youth showcase tourneys in America (including Perfect Game and WWBA) facing elite talent. Won numerous Perfect Game and Triple Crown tournaments and placed in many more.

Earned multiple licenses to sell various insurances, qualifying for my series 65 license becoming a licensed investment advisor.
