Postgraduate Researcher
CurrentAwarded Economic and Social Research Council funding to complete a full-time Education PhD. The aim of the research is to champion inclusive communicatve practices in support services accessed by multilingual migrant groups. I use linguistic ethnography to understand how refugee-support organisations in Glasgow draw on meaning-making resources in ways that affect the participation of community members. In all my work I seek to implement the principles of participatory education, lived-experience leadership, coproduction and trauma-informed practice. I am passionate about migrant language education, seeking ways to contest discriminatory language practices. As such, I investigate multilingual communication and translanguaging pedagogies, valuing and engaging the diverse linguistic resources of community members.
