I studied Criminal Justice in college and after graduation started working as a federal officer for the Department of Homeland Security. While I truly enjoy helping others and serving in my community, I also have a passion for creativity, which wasn't being met in my role as an officer. I decided to look for a career where I could do both and soon discovered the world of software engineering and all that it can provide - to me and to others.I dove into my learning by enrolling in Flatiron School's Software Engineering Bootcamp. There, I discovered an amazing world that has offered me the chance to become a full stack developer and also allows me to problem-solve, showcase my creative side and help people in making their lives easier. And...the sound of being called a Software Engineer has a nice ring to it!As a developer, I'm looking forward to building meaningful and simple responsive web applications to help others.
