• Lead a team of Bioinformatics Specialists.• Responsible for software validation and release into clinical production.• Coordination of NGS data analysis for R&D and Clinical Laboratory.• Project management.• Bioinformatics communication liaison.• Responsible for quality assurance and technical documentation (SOPs, WIs, etc.).

o Participate in research projects as the lead bioinformatician.o Development, maintenance, and update of computational pipelines for the analysis of large NGS datasets.o Management of HPCC resources (Slurm, PBS).o Performed RNAseq analysis to investigate gene expression profiles and differential expression patterns in a large number of samples in the context of various research projects (Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease).o Performed microRNA expression analysis to investigate differential biomarker expression in patients with Diminished Ovarian Reserve Syndrome.o Performed variant calling (SNVs and CNVs) and functional annotation with whole-genome, whole-exome, and RNAseq data in a large number of Stage II-III and Stage IV breast cancer samples (Primary Tumor, Circulating Tumor Cells, Metastases, and Peripheral Blood).o Preparation of scientific reports and publications.

o Oversee all operations of the Genome Core facility.o Manage a budget of $250,000+ annually.o Responsible for equipment decision purchasing (NGS instruments, etc.).o Prepare quotes, invoices, and year-end financial reports.o Recruiting, training, and supervise lab personnel, with 1- 3 people directly reporting to me.o Provide guidance and advice to researchers on NGS experimental design and techniques, and bioinformatics data analysis.o Prepare all types of DNA and RNA libraries for sequencing in NGS platforms.o Implement new experimental protocols.

o Experimental design for NGS related projects to fit budget and time.o Preparation of DNA and RNA libraries for NGS sequencing.o QC and troubleshooting the experimental procedures and protocols for library preparation.o Analysis of NGS data using various bioinformatic tools for read mapping, variant calling, and expression analysis, and statistical analyses using R.o Interpretation of results in the context of population and evolutionary genomics.o Preparation of manuscripts for publication.o Communication of results at several scientific conferences, mostly international conferences.o Supervise and mentor a large number of students at different steps of their education (high school, undergraduate and Ph.D. students).
