After being in employment for the past 18 months, I have decided to embark on a new project supplying and fitting carpets for domestic and commercial properties. I have realised than i am happiest running my own concern so I am revisiting where I started. Over the past 25 years my interior design company also had a flooring division and i still have all the trade suppliers and fitters on hand to give great prices and top quality workmanshipFrom April 2023, I was working for Russell Black Plumbing and Heating. I was Operations Manager helping to run and expand the heating and plumbing division of the company. We have engineers on the road looking after home owners, landlords and managing agents with their boiler services and gas safety certificates. Previously from November 2022, I was appointed as Sales Director at Alexander James Interiors one of the leading interior design houses in the UK. They are recognised in the worlds Top 100 and serve private clients, property developers and commercial partners who value a different approach. They work for clients all over the world including the Far East and Europe as well as all over the UK. My role was to manage many of the existing clients alongside our architects and interior designers as well as generating new work for the business. I left that role at the end of March 2023.Previously, I founded my own interior design business in 2000 and built the business to a turnover of in excess of £3.5m and at the height. We employed 25 people including a strong team of 8 designers. I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge over the past 20 years. My role was to run the day to day operations of the business supported by a strong management team who would meet on a weekly basis and report to me on a regularly. Even though each director had their roles I was involved in all aspects of the company. I was heavily involved in the sales and marketing, social media, advertising and generating new clients and sales, we would constantly be devising new marketing campaigns and offers for our clients. Even though we were a large company I always felt that personal relationships were the foundation of the company, we were like a happy family. I built a very good team and many of my employees were with me for more than 10 years.Before my role as CEO, I was the sales director of a large contract furnishing company and before that I worked in Property in both residential and commercial agency.
