I have a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies with an emphasis in biology and a minor in economics. I am currently employed at Gonzaga University as the sustainability coordinator. In this position I have a wide variety of duties and projects. I am the director of the on campus greenhouse in which I manage multiple employees and coordinate all of the operations. From this I have leadership skills as well as well as experience writing reports and other official documents. I also present seminars to students on campus about a variety of topics and I was a main speaker at the Roots Conference this past February.Prior to my position at Gonzaga University I worked at the Training Center on native and nonnative plant distribution. During this time, I learned to sight ID a vast array of plant life as well as navigation of the shrub-steppe wilderness. For this job my major tasks were plant identification, data entry, and data analyze. I took away from this position skill in working with plants and data which have been very helpful in informing my interest in environmental stewardship.In my senior year of college, I coauthor a paper about how the channelizing of streams effected decomposition rates. During this research I did a lot of drudging through half frozen rivers with bulky equipment to set up sample sites. I also did a lot of data recording and analysis.

I worked alone or in a small group to identified shrub stepp plants and log quantity and location of plants. Also identified unknown plants using a key.
