COMPOSITE TECHNICIAN / RIGGER / OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANAs Composite Technician, repair industrial turbine blades made of fiberglass, foam core, balsa board, carbon fiber, polyurethane (PUR) glue, resins and epoxies in sandwich construction. Repair damage from intensive weather, lightning strikes, bird strikes and other causes. Work within strict composite formulas and design specifications to ensure durability and calibrated weight and balance. Scope encompasses spar construction with structural shell blades built using vacuum infusion and prepreg structural shell blades with no spar. ♦ Communicate with engineers, parts technicians and office coordinator to plan, schedule and coordinate equipment, parts, materials and labor for projects. Maintain flexibility to adapt to changes in work orders due to weather or emerging prioritiesOPERATIONS and MAINTENANCEAs Operations and Maintenance Technician, perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines. Troubleshoot and repair or replace motors, working aloft outside towers on ladders and on manlifts inside towers. Perform lockout/tagout. Replace oil filters, clean brushes, grease mechanical parts, add oil, check and calibrate torque and tension of bolts. Use electric heat guns to loosen Interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical equipment, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) information. Apply knowledge of equipment and interpret technical diagrams of equipment assembly to disassemble and assemble, install and remove equipment. Interpret troubleshooting and repair guides to isolate faults and carry out repairs. Easily adapt to changes such as emerging repair or maintenance needs discovered through inspection and disassembly processes to maximize efficiency.
