Leading hostel GM’s in planning, monitoring and growing guest overnights and satisfaction, revenue yielding, cost containment, maintenance and CAPEX, hostel-specific strategies, staff relations and performance.

Lead a team of 16 managers across 15 unique hostels along the west coast from San Diego to Portland. Stewarding a balance between our organization's mission goals and the operational success of our hostels and staff.With a people first approach the western region's team members have rated their satisfaction with employment the highest across all teams in the organization. It's an honor to lead the managers that represent 50% of our organization's workforce and continually improve our once in a lifetime travel and work expirience along the west coast.

Oversee the operations of 10 HIUSA hostels in the Northwest Region from Monterey, CA to Portland, OR. Directly supervise 9 general managers and the Northwest Region group sales department. In collaboration with the Regional Vice President assure organizational initiatives and goals are developed successfully in the NW Region.

Oversight of all daily operations and capital project management. As GM several large scale capital projects were completed such as: converting 118 doors to a new RFID key system and PMS interface, renovating the lobby and front desk to include ADA accessibility with capital savings from the RFID project, converting 33 guest rooms to a new room type optimizing occupancy and revenue, upgrading the guest wireless system, painting of all hallway corridors, upgrading to a commercial laundry system, 16 bathroom remodels and plumbing upgrades, and a complete refresh of our common spaces optimizing vibe and tying the spaces together. In addition to these improvements, the hostel's revenue exceeded budget and overnights were at an all-time high with our quality ratings rising in tandem.

Oversight of daily operations including supervision of the Front Desk Manager and team, Activities Coordinator, project management, all ordering and stock with attention to budget. Instrumental in raising overall customer ratings as well as Quality Standards scores to all-time highs from 90% to remaining in the 100th percentile to this day.

Managed Cafe Franco generating the highest volume of business and catering revenue to date. Worked with SF General Managers to initiate meal service and catering at 3 locations. Managed food and beverage across the three properties, oversaw all ordering and inventory as well as instituted food safety practices.

Managed Cafe Franco. Introduced a new lunch shift, increased catering revenue, including special event catering and NPS event catering.

Expertly executed guest service while seeking to improve efficiencies at the front desk.

Managed daily shifts and scheduled 24 hour staff of 44, both FOH and BOH. All ordering and inventory, lowered food and beverage cost auditing vendors, increased daytime sales, and initiated an award winning composting and recycling program.
