Corporate accountant responsible for the mother company ( Dufry International AG , headquarter and main distribution center) as well as another 11 offshore entities (India, Czech Republic, Russia, Macedonia. and Panama). Carrying out Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities such as:- Ensure an accurate and timely month-end close by preparing various journal entries and account reconciliations for cash, prepayments, accruals, inter-company, fixed assets and various other accounts.- Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues.- Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies.- Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data.- Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors.- Treasury movements such as HEDGES, SWAPS, SWEEPS, NDF, FX Currency Exchange, Cash pools…- Reconcile bank accounts.- Perform accounting analysis for cash accruals, account payables, account receivables, reconciliations and foreign exchange and resolve outstanding balancing issues- Review financial reports to identify and explain variances.- Examining financial records to check for accuracy..- Ensure proper accounting policies and principles are followed in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).- Assist in project implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department ( Central Finance)- Support overall department goals and objectives.- Provide backup support to the accounts payable and receivables teams as needed.- Provide backup support to the reporting, FPA, and operations as needed.- Assist with ad-hoc projects and management inquiries.
