I currently work on class 185 Diesel and class 350 Electric units. My day to day roles include scheduled maintenance for example unit A/B examinations, fault finding and sometimes driving the rolling stock within the depot limits. Test and commissioning of some systems including TPWS/AWS, Driveline, Pantograph maintenance, Engine health monitoring, Traction/Braking control unit observations. SPAD investigations and OTMR downloads when required. Auto-Coupler testing and repairs. Also, Post Tyre Turning/Ride height adjustment maintenance and commissioning prior to service. In addition to this, i am Designated Person Qualified and therefore i am able to attend a failed unit in service.

My main duties are to install, maintain and repair the measuring and control devices used in Petrochemical, industrial and commercial processing. Routine testing of fire and gas detecting systems. Removal of instruments for calibration and testing. I am familiar with inspecting and maintaining Ex Certified equipment and therefore CompEx(EX01-EX04) certified. I work with a wide variety of pneumatic, electronic and analogue devices used to measure and control pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition. Prior to carrying out a task, I am competent with the completion of Risk assessments, ALARP principle, ISSOW and Permit To Work. I also completed all my Offshore survival courses.

Carried out routine maintenance, defect rectification and fault diagnosis on a wide range of electrical systemsincluding electrical power generation and distribution, avionics equipment, environment control, instrumentation and gauges, control surfaces, fuel flow and distribution management and numerous monitoring systems. Installation of wiring modifications and full system functional testing.Extensive knowledge and experience of analogue and digital avionics/electrical equipment including communication systems, flight control systems, radar, navigation, electrical power generation and distribution, fuel flow, fuel level sensing and management, data recording, instrumentation, specialist optical sensors, onboard check out and monitoring systems.Logical and decisive fault diagnosis and fault rectification with copper cables, databus stanag 1553 and stanag 3910 (fibre optic) systems. This includes repair of fibre optics.

Initially carried out minor land surveys of streets and building work, then after completing training moved on to detailed elevation surveys of buildings (both inside and outside) and sometimes churches, coastal surveys to monitor beach and water levels, and finally, with the use of a Theodolite, highly accurate high rise building surveys.
