Working within Coventry City Council's Regulatory Services across a number of different areas including business compliance, environmental and public health, this role involves delivering the City Council's Covid-19 response strategy. I am tasked with engaging with businesses across a range of sectors in Coventry (including retail, hospitality and close contact services) to ensure compliance with Covid-19 regulations, providing them with support and guidance. Where necessary, for businesses that are non-compliant and routinely continue to do so, I take appropriate enforcement action against them to reduce the public health risk to the city. Where businesses report confirmed cases of Covid-19 amongst staff members, I collaborate both with them and Public Health stakeholders to implement measures to manage outbreaks of the virus.

Working within the Negotiation Strategy team, this role involves supporting the delivery of complex and high-value Structured Negotiations to ensure optimal cost benefit and cost control to JLR. Support is provided by deploying a holistic Total-Value-of-Ownership approach with the project teams and core cross-functional stakeholders as well as also with engaging specialist teams where appropriate. Further to this role, I am also a member of the Global Programmes and Operations Management (GP&OM) Wellbeing Committee, working to implement the wellbeing agenda with the JLR purchasing function.

As part of the Jaguar Land Rover purchasing graduate scheme, I worked within the Aftermarket department as a Commodity Buyer in the Chassis team. I was responsible for a portfolio of commodities and was trained in a number of different competencies including market analysis, product sourcing and cost and supplier relationship management. Additional responsibilities including coordinating activities of the offshore purchasing team based in India.

Contracted through Brook Street and working in the National Permitting Service, my responsibilities in this role were to determine applications for environmental permits by carrying out appropriate technical assessments in accordance with Government policies and procedures and issue, refuse or vary permits to time and budget. Furthermore, I provided advice and guidance to operators and consultees to ensure a broad understanding of the permitting process.
