Responsibility over the finance and accounting function related to UC Health’s ambulatory operations and Faculty Practice Plan. Ensuring UC Health is achieving its operational, financial, and strategic goals and initiatives. The ambulatory operations generates over $600M in net revenue and includes more than 1,000 providers and 1,500 staff FTEs. Responsibilities include also budget development, financial reporting and accounting services, benchmarking, financial analytics and reporting, resource allocation, maximizing revenues, as well as ensuring lean business practices while maintaining operational excellence.

Responsibility over the finance and accounting function, revenue cycle operations, payer contracting oversight, decision support and revenue integrity. Achievements include: development of a financially integrated platform across hospital, medical school, and physician practice operations; transformation of monthly financial reporting process into metric driven analytics; restructuring of clinical faculty compensation plan to better align compensation to productivity and system goals; redesign funds flow to an integrated governance process; optimizing revenue cycle operations and transition to real-time claims adjudication process; implementation of new budgeting and reporting system; and implementation of new revenue cycle system.

• Responsible for approximately 20 individuals in three functional groups encompassing accounting operations and policies, budgeting/forecasting including system maintenance, and financial reporting and analysis;• Overseeing the annual preparation of the operational and capital budget and financial forecast as well as collaboration with clinic leadership to ensure that financial targets are met and that the financial plan of operation is compatible with the Company short- and long-term strategic plans;• Responsible for the company's financial plans, policies and its accounting practices as well as for the maintenance of records and procedures required to adequately safeguard the assets of the organization;• Leading and mentoring finance department staff, overseeing all training and career development initiatives, administering performance evaluations; • Overseeing General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Banking, Asset Management, Debt Management, Investments, and Cashier Services;• Responsible for system maintenance, report writing and distribution, consolidation of financial results of operations, and month-end variance analysis;• Overseeing implementation of new financial management system PeopleSoft as well as new reporting and budgeting system EPSi.

Teaching financial and managerial accounting, covering not-for-profit and for profit organizations. This class has over 80 students and is part of the Master of Science in Public Health program.

• Reporting to the CFO as well as to the Audit Committee;• Responsible for the development of the newly created internal audit function; • Responsible for all areas of internal audits, risk management, governance processes, GAAP accounting compliance, and company policy compliance;• Global project management/lead of Sarbanes-Oxley/Internal Control implementation (including evaluation and documentation of all significant business processes)• Promotion of economical and efficient use of resources and asset safeguarding, manage and supervise outsourced resources.
