I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, as well as an Adjunct Professor in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Biological Sciences, at the University of Alberta My research program combines biophysics with molecular biology to study genetic networks, antimicrobial resistance, and magnetobiology. My research group develops mathematical models and performs computer simulations, trains machine learning models for medical diagnostic applications, designs and builds electromagnetic devices, and conducts evolution experiments on genetically engineered and pathogenic yeasts. This research is advancing our fundamental understanding of life and aims to improve treatments for patients with drug-resistant infections.
